Snapchat is analyzing new features like a conventional social media attribute offering’Status’ choice — its version of Instagram-like”@Mention” decals — combined with a brand new user interface (UI) for Snap Map. The transfer makes it like the formerly common Foursquare app.
To keep track of all of the areas users check-in and with whom, the stage is also attempting its hands on a characteristic known as”virtual passport” as a personal history of Standing which users can see or delete, Social Media Today reported on Wednesday.
The evaluation features were found by reverse engineer Jane Manchun Wong. Snapchat affirmed the evaluation at an announcement into TechCrunch, stating, “Yes, we are currently testing new ways for Snapchatters to better communicate on the Snap Map with their friends. This test is running with a percentage of Snapchatters in Australia.”
With these attributes, Snap appears to be targeting the”gamification” function of this platform which Snapchat has been famous for, wherein users assemble records of measuring snaps together with each other daily and call them”Snap Streaks”.
Snapchat’s contentious and criticized redesign had wiped out Snap Streaks, which a few users had spent decades working and that didn’t go well with the teens.
It is logical for Snapchat to use that compulsion to induce greater action in the app and by prompting enlarged check-ins, Snap will have the ability to acquire extra audience information to aid in improving its advertisement targeting, the report stated.
